A modern house in Canterbury with a large wraparound garden in the middle of the Kent countryside challenged us to use fun shapes and textures that complemented both the sleek, straight lines of the house and the wild vista beyond. The layout lent itself to a strong sense of separate areas and interests, including a modern and functional entertaining space. The design has a variety of materials and levels surrounded by textural and colourful planting. Whilst the design has a lot of crisp straight lines, it sits nicely within this wild and informal countryside surrounding.
